Under the ice — Original oil painting on wood, Pendu stream

A close-up of the Pendu stream: the water keeps running under a thin layer of ice, while low light picks out the stones lying on the bed. This contrast between the frozen surface and the movement that persists beneath offers an almost abstract subject, focused on matter and transparency.

This small format narrows the gaze onto a detail we often pass without stopping — the ice forming along the edge, the water that refuses to stand still, and the light that reveals the usually shaded bed of the stream.
