27.12.2025 Winter confluence — Original oil painting on wood, Guiers Mort

Where the Corbeilleurs stream meets the Guiers Mort, between Christmas and New Year, the cold was so sharp it seemed it could split the stone. This meeting of two streams, with eddies and reflections answering each other, offers a rare composition: two currents, two shades of water, one icy silence.

Painting outdoors in such cold imposes its own rhythm — quicker gestures, a fast reading of the values before your hands stiffen. This original painting keeps the trace of that urgency, and of the raw light typical of the coldest days in Chartreuse.
