fossil beach

An imagined scene, inspired by a small pebble beach where looking for fossils with my son becomes a pretext for observing the late-afternoon light. The atmosphere is misty, the water catches the last rays of the day, among the rounded stones of the shore.

This original painting mixes personal memory and free interpretation: less a precise scene than an atmosphere, that of a moment suspended between two activities, when the light gently tips the landscape towards evening. It is the unfathomable feeling of living this fleeting moment with my son, looking for fossils some hundred million years old, on the threshold of night.
