A waterfall on the Petite Vache torrent, just before it joins the Guiers Mort at the first natural bridge of the Carthusian monks. The water falls and crashes onto the rock in continuous movement, a demanding but rewarding subject for a plein-air session.

This painting was made alla prima — in a single session, at the first attempt, directly on site. The technique demands getting the values and the movement of the water right from the start, with no corrections or reworking in the studio: what you see is the direct trace of the moment.
