Eaux fortes, Guiers Mort 05.02.2025

Early February 2025, the first signs of an approaching storm: the Guiers Mort carries heavy water, swollen by snowmelt, in denser, more mineral tones than usual. Rain begins to fall on the canvas. Then a break of light crosses the scene, lifting the heavy atmosphere and creating this contrast between the threatening sky and the sudden brightness on the water.

Painted en plein air in these changing conditions, this original painting captures a fragile moment — the light does not wait, and it was this brief window between two clouds that guided the composition.
