Morning light — Imagined scene, high mountains

An entirely imagined scene, born of the wish to express the austere purity of a high-mountain torrent in the low light of early morning. No specific place here, but a synthesis of sensations gathered over plein-air sessions in the Chartreuse massif — clear water, bare rock, and that still-cold light that has not yet warmed the landscape.

This original painting explores a deliberate austerity: few colours, a pared-down composition, leaving all the room to the light and the silence of the first hours of the day in the mountains.
